The Florida Section American Water Resources Association was established in 1971 and has been incorporated as a non-profit scientific organization since 1994. Our mission is to promote understanding of water resources and related issues by providing a multidisciplinary forum for information exchange, professional development and education. Our vision is to be recognized as the preeminent organization for information exchange about water resources issues.

AWRA Florida Section Annual Meeting
SAVE THE DATE! The AWRA Florida Section Annual Meeting will be held June 27-28 at the Cocoa Beach Hilton.
The technical agenda is in the process of being finalized and will be posted soon.
For planning purposes a very general and tentative schedule follows.
Thursday June 27
Board of Directors Meeting- The AWRA Florida Section Board of Directors will meet in the morning (9 or 10 am). Guests are welcome to attend. Attending a Board meeting is a great way to introduce yourself to the group and familiarize yourself with how the organization is managed. This is a great first step if you are interested in becoming a board member.
Silent Auction - will run all day
Technical Sessions - technical sessions will run from about 1:00 - 5:00 THIS IS TENTATIVE
President's Reception - 6:00 p.m. (or there about)
Dinner and awards - 7:00 p.m. (or there about)
Close of silent auction and announcement of silent auction winners
Friday June 28
Technical Sessions - technical sessions will run from about 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. THIS IS TENTATIVE
Eco-tour (demand and weather dependent)- 1:00 p.m. Whether we have an eco-tour will depend upon demand and the weather. Options include a pontoon boat tour or a kayak tour. When you register, we will ask that if you choose to participate in one of the eco-tours you select one of the options.

THE FLORIDA WATERSHED JOURNAL (FWJ) NEEDS YOUR HELP
The FWJ has become one of Florida’s preeminent peer reviewed technical journals that focuses on Water Resources. The FWJ is a joint publication developed by the Florida Section of AWRA and FWEA. The Florida Section of AWRA is looking to add a committee member to teh FWJ publication team on behalf of the Florida AWRA. This is your chance to get involved and express your passion and leadership for water resources in Florida. The time commitment is approximately a few hours per month on average. The committee member involvement is flexible. Positions include peer review coordinator, treasurer and web master. All skill sets are needed and sought.
