    Challenges for Florida’s Agriculture - Past, Present and Future
    Friday May 10, 2013
    Bishop Park, Lake Placid Florida

    Lake Placid in Highlands County, recently featured in Readers Digest as the most interesting town to live in America, is the site for our May AWRA meeting. On the shore of Lake - June - in - Winter, we will meet in the clubhouse at Bishop Park, 10 Lake June Clubhouse Road. The theme for the meeting is “Challenges for Florida’s Agriculture - Past, Present and Future”. Agriculture presents many challenges to water resource professionals in Florida and there is no better time than now to delve in to the many issues facing this important economic engine. We have many notable speakers, each an expert in their respective field.

    The events of the day are as follows:

    Board of directors meeting 10am to 12pm at Bishop Park (members welcome)

    Lunch 12pm to 1pm Bishop Park

    Technical Session 1:00 – 4:45

    Networking 4:45 – 5:30

    If you come early and are not attending the board meeting, we encourage you to tour the Archbold Wildlife Refuge with Dr. Hillary Swaine. It is an amazing ecological site and research center.

    There will be a get together at Bob and Carol Howard’s home, 712 Sunset Pointe Drive in Lake Placid on Thursday May 9 from 6 to 8.
